Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, has spoken up on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan, stating that the President stands for the protection of the rights of Muslims in the country, adding that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as not inclined to any religion in particular as it represents both Christians and Muslims.
The Minister spoke at the fag off of the PDP campaign in Kano State, adding that those using religion as a premise for politicking were exhibiting baseless and unnecessary cowardice.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Shekarau said: “Anybody who thinks the PDP is a party that treats its members on the basis of religious affiliation is bias and economical with the truth. That is why we are saying so long as we need genuine and proper development for our country we should vote for the PDP.
“With all the developmental projects by this administration, the opposition party should know that the PDP is already ahead of them before the proper election comes,” Shekarau added.
