Newly sworn in President of Nigeria, Muhammau Buhari, has arrived in the Niger Republic capital Niamey for his scheduled meeting with the Nigerien President, Mahamadou Issoufou, to deliberate on security issues affecting the two countries as regard the Boko Haram sect.
Since the president’s inauguration on Myay 29, 2015, Niger Republic is the first foreign nation he has visited and he is also scheduled to pay a visit to Chad on Thursday, June 4, 2015 before returning to Nigeria.
The President is also scheduled to attend the G7 summit in Berlin, Germany holding on Sunday, June 7, 2015, according to his team.
As at the time of filing this report, the delegation from Nigeria and their Nigerien counterparts were still in the meeting to discuss vital security issues facing both countries.
