Prankster Sprays Blatter Wads Of Cash At FIFA Press Conference (VIDEO)

Must read

Sepp Blatter’s first official press conference since announcing he is stepping down as Fifa president was interrupted by the comedian who plays Lee Nelson today.

The British comic, real name Simon Brodkin, walked in front of the beleaguered head of world football’s governing body before throwing a wad of fake cash into the air.

Brodkin was quickly escorted away by security staff.

Blatter rose from his seat and looked flustered by the incident before being coaxed back to his seat by an official.

Some in attendance can be heard laughing.

Blatter said: “This has nothing to do with football”.

Brodkin, who has appeared in various BBC Three shows, has made a recent habit of gatecrashing events. He interrupted Kanye West’s headline set earlier this summer, running onto the Pyramid Stage before being wrestled by a security guard. He also dressed up as a member of the England football team and tried to board their pre-World Cup flight to Miami last year.

It is not the first time that Brodkin has targeted the outgoing Fifa president, with an attempt to enter Fifa’s headquarters in May being foiled.

Brodkin was also hauled before court in 2013 when he dressed as his Premier League footballer character Jason Bent and managed to get on the pitch with Manchester City players shortly before a game at Everton’s Goodison Park.

Earlier today it was announced that Blatter’s successor will be appointed on 26 February.
