IBADAN, Nigeria – The sun set on a beloved clerical figure Wednesday, July 5, 2023 evening as renowned Ibadan-based Prophet Michael Olowere, fondly known as “Baba Automatic”, passed away.
His associate, Pastor Adebiyi Adam, District Coordinating Superintendent at the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Agbara, Ibadan, described the prophet’s last moments as a transition into glory, claiming Olowere had a premonition of his impending death.
According to Pastor Adam, the late prophet did not succumb to illness but passed on in a state of preparedness.
Scores of church members, ministers, and mourners flocked to the late cleric’s residence in the Ashi area of Ibadan to grieve with his family, mourning the loss of a man who impacted many with his deep preaching, teaching, and gospel evangelism.
“Olowere foretold his departure from earth. He said that before 7 p.m. that day, he would be gone and asked that arrangements be made for his transition. When it was 5:24 p.m., he breathed his last,” Adam revealed, providing insight into the prophet’s final hours.
He also attested that the late prophet was sound-minded, received the best treatment, and wanted privacy during his last days.
Known for his miraculous signs and wonders, Olowere had an illustrious ministry spanning over six decades. He is credited with planting several churches within the CAC mission, beginning with the CAC Oke-Imole, Agbowo, in 1978.
He was reported as one of the few men who received a great measure of the anointing of God from the revered Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola.
Pastor Adam condemned those circulating unfounded stories about the revered cleric’s death, asserting that Olowere departed at a ripe age and without scandal. “It happened the way it should be; not even one of his biological or spiritual children died before him,” he said.
“Baba Olowere died while actively serving God,” Adam continued, depicting a serene image of the prophet’s passing. “He was a fulfilled man, having impacted the world positively for Jesus Christ. He had a sense of appreciation and even compensated all who took care of him in his last days.”
The details of his death remain unconfirmed as efforts to glean more information from his family and church headquarters have so far been unsuccessful.
However, the legacy left by the late Prophet Olowere remains undeniable – a profound spiritual leader whose life, teachings, and prophecies continue to echo in the hearts of his numerous followers.
