A police officer was arrested on charges of rape after allegedly raping his mother-in-law, in Dutse, Jigawa state’s capital.
The Jigawa State Police said that the unnamed officer is being held by the Security and Civil Defence Corps of Nigeria, NSCDC.
After pleading guilty to the abominable crime, the suspect tendered a written apology to his father-in-law showing remorse for raping his wife.
The suspect is expected to be brought before the Jigawa Magistrate’s Court for a bail hearing very soon.
