Policemen in Ondo state on Monday, October 27, 2014 cordoned off Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat in Ondo State following the sacking of the state’s executives and their rejection of the decision which was made by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
Vanguard reports that at about twelve police officers were dispatched to the 68, Oyemakun road, Akure secretariat of the party to forestall any chaos from occurring with all staff of the secretariat turned back at the gate.
Following the dismissal of the Executive Committee (exco), many party leaders in the state have threatened to decamp to another party, while others have asked for caution to be applied.
Reports say several important party leaders, including Governor Olusegun Mimiko have been invited to a meeting in Abuja by the NWC to find a permanent solution to the crisis.
Ondo state police public relations officer, Wole Ogodo denied knowledge of the closure of the secretariat saying: “I do not know anything about the deployment of policemen to the PDP secretariat, but I will find out and get back to you.”
