YOLA, Nigeria — Kidnappers struck in the early hours of Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in Yola, Adamawa State, abducting Zainab Abbas, the wife of a high court judge whose name remains undisclosed.
According to the Adamawa State Police Command, the kidnappers targeted Abbas’s residence in the Nyinbango area of Jimeta between 1 am and 2 am.
Suleiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident in a statement.
He assured the public that the police command would marshal every resource at its disposal to rescue the victim.
“The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, has deployed operatives drawn from the Crack Squad and Special Rapid Response Team (SRRT) for the rescue mission.

Nguroje added that these deployments would facilitate a prompt response to distress calls and a clampdown on criminals.
The kidnapping marks the latest in a spate of abductions in the Nyinbango area.
