Police in Kano State has foiled a kidnap attempt at Danzabuwa Village, Bichi Local Government area.
Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the spokesman of the command, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists.
He said this followed the complaint lodged by a resident of Danzabuwa Village, Bichi LGA, Kano State, that he was contacted on phone and threatened to pay the sum of N1 million or he or one of his children would be kidnapped.
Kiyawa said after the complaint, police swung into action and succeeded in arresting 28 years old Tukur Ahmad, at Panda Village, Keffi Local Government, Nassarawa State on Saturday.
He said the suspect who is a relative of the complainant confessed to the crime and would be charged to court for prosecution.
The Command, however, assured of its continued commitment to providing a peaceful atmosphere in the state.
It also urged the public to feed police with any vital information that will help in maintaining the security of the state.
