Ibrahim Idris, the inspector general of police, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, failed to appear before the senate the second time, sending Joshak Habilah, the deputy inspector-general to represent him.
Reports say that IGP and GOC 1 Division Kaduna, General Mohammed Mohammed, visited Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State to assess security needs of the people.
Recall that the senate had invited Mr. Idris to explain the incidence surrounding Dino Melaye, a distinguished member representing Kogi west constituency in the hallowed chamber.
Recall also that police had last week arrested Dino Melaye over an alleged involvement in a criminal activity with other arrested suspects.
Dino is currently receiving treatment at the National hospital Abuja where he is being watched by police.
However, in other to be updated in Dino’s case and incessant killings in the country, Senate again re-summoned IGP to brief them of the security situation.
