Police in Kano State have arrested thirty-three suspected armed robbers who have been terrorizing Kano State and its environs.
Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police public relations officer, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists.
He said the arrest was made based on the directives of the Inspector General of Police to rid Kano State of all forms of crimes and criminality, especially the menace of thuggery (Daba), Drug Abuse (Kwaya), and other social vices.
Kiyawa explained that the Clearance Operations was carried out by the command during the Maukibi event on 20/11/202.
He said the operations led to the arrest of 58 suspects for offences ranging from armed robbery, theft to illicit drugs possession.
Kiyawa said the suspects were arrested with dangerous weapons and stolen properties.
He said they will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
