One year after he allegedly kidnapped and murdered a Chinese national, a notorious cultist, Adelaja Segun, has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos Police Command.
Segun, the command said, had conspired with other members of his gang to commit the alleged offence in February, 2020.
They were alleged to have kidnapped the victim at Okunowa, Ijebu, in Ogun State and taken him to their hideout in Otta-Agbowa, Ikosi, Lagos where he was eventually killed and his body dumped in the Ikosi river.
According to police spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Segun was arrested on March 6, at about 2am in Emuren, during a sting operation.
“The suspect has confessed that other members of the gang have been arrested by the Intelligence Responses Team, IRT, Force Intelligence Bureau, Abuja.
“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the command’s Strike Team that arrested Adelaja Segun Moses to work with the IRT on the investigation into the case.
“He further assured that Lagos State will be hot for criminals and “bad boys” who venture into criminal activities in the state.
“The corpse of the Chinese has not been recovered till date.”
