One Chukwuemeka also known as Hawkins has been apprehended by men of the Delta state police command for allegedly kidnapping the wife of a Delta State University (DELSU) lecturer, Mrs. Roseline Okolie and a certain Patience Anigala.
DSP Celestina Kalu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Delta state police command confirmed the arrest on Thursday, September 4, 2014.
Kalu revealed that Chukwuemeka was arrested on Sunday, August 31, 2014 by operatives of Special Anti-kidnapping Squad based in Obiaruku area of the state after residents put a distress call that robbers were operating Amai axis.

“Based on the report, operatives swiftly mobilised to the scene and trailed the hoodlums to Utagba-uno community and arrested one Chukwuneku, aka Hawkins.
“Items recovered from him included one motorcycle, two single and one double barrel guns and two handsets.
“The suspect has confessed his involvement in the kidnap of one Mrs. Anigala Patience and the recent kidnap of Mrs. Roseline Okolie, the wife of a lecturer at Delta State University Abraka.
“The suspect is helping the police in investigation while efforts are on to track down other members of the gang.”
JJIn a related development, she said: “On August 29, at about 4.30 pm, one Hon. Tony Anuku reported at the Special Anti-Kidnapping office Asaba that four armed men invaded his house at Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State and took away his Honda CRV with number plate EPE 459 AX, jewellery and other valuables.Jujji
“On receipt of the report, operatives swung into action and with the aid of tracking device, recovered the stolen vehicle at Owa-Oyibu axis.
“Donald, Paul and Oseji have been arrested in connection with the crime and they are undergoing investigation, while efforts are on to track down the principal suspect, one Israel, currently on the run.”
