Three young men were nabbed by the police in Asaba, Delta state for robbing their Facebook friends of a bag containing clothes during their visit to Asaba.
The hoodlums identified as Daniel Fredrick, Nze Emeka and Kingsley Nwali, all residing at Shedrack Estate, Asaba had asked the victims Oleshade Akugbade and Olayinka Alake from Ibadan to pay them a visit in Delta state.
Confirming the arrest on Thursday, August 7, 2014, the Delta state police public relations officer, DSP Celestina Kalu said the victims had reported the robbery attack at the GRA police station in Asaba which led to the arrest of the suspects.
She said “On their arrival at the aforementioned estate they were robbed by their hosts of a bag containing their clothes. The three suspects have been arrested while the stolen items were recovered from them.”
The PPRO also mentioned that the police had arrested three people in connection with the reported stolen Toyota Camry car in Abuja.
She said, “SARS Patrol team Asaba, while on routine patrol at the Bridge Head in Asaba intercepted one Toyota Camry car with registration number BWR 89 DC with two occupants, one Ikechukwu Okafor and John Okibe.
“During interrogation, the suspects confessed that they snatched the car from its owner at Abuja and they were on their way to Ihiala in Anambra State to deliver it to a receiver.
“Based on their confession, detectives moved with the suspects to Ihiala and arrested the alleged receiver, one Christopher Okolie.
“However, on their way back to Asaba, one of the suspects, John Okibe, jumped down from the vehicle with hand cuff on his hands in a bid to escape and he was subsequently shot on the leg and re-arrested.”
