Barely six weeks to the general elections, the ruling People’s Democratic Party had on Thursday, January 8, 2015 launched a presidential campaign for President Jonathan’s re-election in the oncoming general elections in Lagos state.
The rally saw a surging crowd of prominent male and female supporters of the party at the Tafawa Balewa Square.
Prominent among them are Vice President Namadi Sambo, governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta state, Ayo Fayose of Ekiti, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Olusegun Mimiko as well as Femi Fani-Kayode, Bode George and several others.
They promised to support the president to secure a second term in office adding that they would help him secure votes in the different regions.
Gov Ayo Fayose emphatically stated that the Yoruba people will return president Jonathan for a second term in office.
Quite a handful of people trooped to the venue and this has caused a serious gridlock around the neighbouring areas including Ademola Adetokunbo, Onikan, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Ikoyi Falomo and so on.
