A group of armed robbers numbering about 15 in number had intercepted and attacked a 14-seater Toyota mini bus which was laden with passengers travelling to Lagos state from Akure, Ondo state’s capital.
The attack reportedly took place in the early hours of today, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 around the popular Ore toll gate.
The Trent gathered that the armed bandits beat up several passengers of the bus before carting away with some money belonging to their victims.
Some of the victims speculated that the bandits could be Fulani cattle rearers judging from their appearance and conversation.
According to reports, some police officials had arrived the scene of the attack but unfortunately could not get hold of any of the thieves as they had all escaped through the forest immediately after the attack.
Meanwhile, no life was reported lost in the incident.
