Former Lagos gubernatorial aspirant, Jimi Agbaje on Monday, December 8, 2014 won the race to represent the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 Lagos gubernatorial election after defeating former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.
The result of the primaries which was announced at about 11:20pm saw Agbaje amass higher number of votes, although there was a slight discrepancy with 863 ballot boxes counted as against the 806 reported delegates.
Another highlight of the primaries was an attempt by some unknown persons to snatch the ballot box while counting of votes was going on.
The result of the Lagos primaries was one of the last to be released in a series of governorship primaries which were held across the nation.
