The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has chosen former Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, as its new party chairman in a meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday January 19th 2014.
Mu’azu replaces the former chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur who resigned last week.
According to reports, Mu’azu was selected as the consensus candidate after a meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice-President Namadi Sambo, Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, Senate President David Mark and all the state Governors elected under the party.
The 58 year old politician will be unveiled formally today Monday January 20th at a Special NEC meeting of the party.
