A pastor, Nzube Ohuama, of a new generation Pentecostal church located along Port Harcourt Road in Onitsha, Anambra State, has been nabbed for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl after luring her into a private room in the church during a vigil programme.
The victim had gone for the monthly programme with her parents before the pastor committed the offence.
The pastor had reportedly prophesied to the girl’s parents three days before the rape that the victim was possessed with an evil spirit and needed special prayers to rid her off the spirit.
According to reports, the pastor warned the victim’s parents of an imminent harm if the evil spirit was not cast out.
The terrified parents yielded to the pastor’s deceit and of passing their daughter through a deliverance session only for him to end up having a carnal knowledge of her.
It was learnt that at about 1am when the vigil had fully started, the pastor called out the girl and told the congregation that he had a special assignment he needed to carry out on her alone and took her to the private room.
It was while he was at it that the girl’s sister walked to the pastor’s office and was surprised to hear her sister crying in pains. When the girl finally came out, she had blood stains on her and the sister pressured her into telling what trasnpired between her and the pastor.
The attention of the parents was immediately called to the incident before they lodged a complaint at the Fegge Police Station leading to the pastor’s arrest.
