LAGOS — Pastor Lazarus Muoka, the general overseer of Lord’s Chosen Church, has dragged the Inspector-General of Police and others before a Lagos High Court in Igbosere over a land tussle.
The said suit, marked M/541/2013, states that the Applicants (the Incorporated Trustee of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry and its pastor) had received threats of arrest by the police due to a petition writtten by a Mrs. Ogundipe, alleging that the church had unlawful possession of her property in Ikotun area of Lagos.
Respondents in the suit include Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba; Inspector Festus Elelegwu and Mrs Oluwatosin Ogundipe
The applicants, in the suit, contend that they bought the land from Ogundipe’s husband, who died some years after he validly sold the land and gave possession and titled document to them.
The applicants also maintained that problems arose after the demise of Ogundipe’s husband, as members of his polygamous family scrambled to outwit themselves in the ensuing scuffle for his properties.
