REDEMPTION CITY, Nigeria – Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has announced a 100-day fasting programme aimed at fostering a spiritual and national turnaround in 2025.

The initiative, themed ‘RCCG FAST 2025,’ will run from January 11 to April 21 and reflects the church’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s socio-economic and security challenges through prayer.

The announcement was made during RCCG’s first Holy Ghost Night of 2025 and reiterated in a video message shared on Pastor Adeboye’s official Facebook page.

Focus on Nigeria’s Challenges

Pastor Adeboye stated that the first 30 days of the fast would focus exclusively on prayers for Nigeria, underscoring the church’s concern for the nation’s current struggles.

“We are starting January 11—100 days, that’s all,” Adeboye said, urging participants to adopt fasting schedules tailored to their capacities.

Flexible Participation Options

The programme allows for flexibility, enabling participants to:

  • Fast continuously for 14 days, which will count as 28 days.
  • Fast continuously for 21 days, which will count as 63 days.
  • Fast continuously for 30 days, which will count as the full 100 days.

Special provisions were made for older participants, with those aged 70 and above permitted to break their fast by 3 p.m., and those aged 80 and above by noon.

Adeboye assured the congregation that he would personally fast continuously to meet the 100-day goal, saying, “I’m not leading from behind. By the grace of God, we’ll remain healthy and strong.”

Call for Focus and Commitment

Emphasising the spiritual nature of the fast, Adeboye urged participants to avoid distractions, including frivolous conversations.

He cited Matthew 11:12: “The kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violent take it by force,” calling 2025 a pivotal year for divine breakthroughs and intervention.

The 100-day fast highlights the RCCG’s belief in the power of collective prayer to reshape Nigeria’s future.

With the country grappling with economic pressures and security challenges, the initiative offers Nigerians a spiritual outlet for their hopes and aspirations.

As anticipation builds, the church’s declaration has sparked widespread engagement among its members and beyond, raising expectations for a spiritual revival that could redefine the nation’s trajectory in 2025.
