Police officers attached to the Enugu state police command have arrested a pastor for allegedly impregnating a female member and attempting to abort the pregnancy.
According to reports, the abortion led to several complications which has landed the said member, one Favour Onah in hospital.
Ebere Amaraizu, the police public relations officer for Enugu state, who confirmed the incident said the pastor, one Friday Onuh of the Hospital Chapel Ministry in Obollo Eke area of Udenu local government area of the state impregnated Onah and attempted aborting it by taking her to a patent medicine dealer.
Amaraizu said: “The pastor had allegedly impregnated the girl, a worshipper in his church and took her to a patent medicine dealer at Ikem in Isiuzo Local Government Area of the state. It was reported that severe complications resulted from the abortion and that she is currently lying ill at a hospital.”
Pastor Onuh however denied the claims.
