INEC Office Set On Fire By Hoodlums In Osun

Hoodlums in their numbers invaded Independent National Electoral office, INEC, in Oriade local government area of Osun state, and set all the ballot boxes on fire.

They reportedly shot sporadically in the air and scared away INEC and security officials before unleashing their plans.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2019.

Some of the staff at the building, however, fled the scene.

Confirming the incident was Mr Olusegun Agbaje, the Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner, said it was a minor incident.

Similar incident was recorded in Okota area in Lagos state on Saturday while the presidential and National Assembly elections were on.

Sources indicate the attacks on INEC to be coming from agents of the ruling political party.
