In what is either a) a dramatic shift in their business plan or b) the mistake of a lowly social media intern, US Airways tweeted out a photo of a model of one of their planes inserted into a woman’s vagina. Twice. To the entire Internet.
That’s pretty much the entire story in a nutshell, but the photo (See an edited VERY GRAPHIC version of the photo below the story) has to be seen to be believed. You may want to make sure that you’re not eating when you take a peek.
The picture was initially tweeted out to American Airlines by an otherwise random person. Whoever is manning the US Airways twitter account must have copied the URL to send to a friend or work colleague and then accidentally pasted it into the tweet, thereby sending it out to their 418,000 followers. It was up for over an hour before being taken down. We hope they leave the poor kid alone.
One could also argue that travel to the Southern Hemisphere has never seemed more enticing.
Update (3:27 p.m.):
So what probably happened is some social media moron at US Airways tried to copy and paste the American Airlines tweet to a friend but instead tweeted it at some frustrated customers.
