The much canvassed gestures of charity and philanthropy was, penultimatum Friday, set in motion as an Ondo philanthropist and former chairman Ondo West Local Government, Hon. Biola Makinde, donates a well built and equipped with state of the art facilities orphanage, to Ondo kingdom.

Speaking at the occasion, the proprietor and initiator of Leading Footsteps Orphanage, Hon. Makinde, expressed his gratuities to God for the successful completion of the project and appreciated people in attendance.

He noted that the idea of building the home was brought about by the desire to give back to a section of the society, where he expects no reward or appreciation.

In his address, Chairman of the occasion, and honorable member, representing Ondo West and East Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Dr. Joseph Akinlaja, expressed utmost joy about the gesture, saying it is one of the best things that can ever happen to humanity.

“For someone to donate a property worth over 30 million to an orphanage is something not everyone can do, and it is worth emulation”. Akinlaja said.

The Leading Footsteps Orphanage was handed over to the use of the public at a well-attended ceremony held at its premises.
