Olusegun Mimiko, the immediate past governor of Ondo State, along with his wife, Olukemi and their children held a special thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, the Power Sanctuary in Ondo Town.
The service, held on Sunday, February 26, 2017, was attended by members of their extended families, officials who served under Mimiko’s administration, and host of well-wishers.
The former governor thanked God for a successful tenure, his supporters, critics and well-wishers as he said he will dedicate more time to serving God and the people.
“On assumption of office I made a covenant with God, knowing the circumstances under which we came to power, that I will work for the people. Eight years down the line, I can raise my shoulders high that I have truly worked for the people,” Dr. Mimiko said.
“With the help of God, we have bridged the social inequality gap in Ondo state and our greatest achievement has been the fact that there is peace in the land.”
While delivering his sermon, Regional Pastor in charge of Ondo Province 2, Idris Umah, said God has been the secret of Governor Mimiko’s success in the last 8 years as he enjoined all politicians and aspiring leaders to take a cue from Mimiko’s exemplary leadership.
