NAN – Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has declared Friday, March 4 as work-free day in the state to commemorate the coronation of the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Saliu Adetunji
This is contained in a three-paragraph statement issued on Thursday in Ibadan by Mr Soji Eniade, the State Head of Service.
It urged all civil and public servants in the state, market men and women, artisans and other members of the public to massively turn out to witness the epoch making event.
“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has approved that Friday, 4th March, 2016 is declared a public holiday in the state.
“The holiday is to commemorate the coronation of the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Olasupo Adetunji, who would be installed at Mapo Hall, Ibadan on the same day,” it said.
It added that the governor would appreciate peaceful conduct of members of the public, before, during and after the coronation.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Ajimobi would on Friday become the first Ibadan man to install an Olubadan in the history of the state.
