A commercial motorcyclist accused of defiling a 6-year-old girl twice has been remanded in prison.in Idye village in Makurdi metropolis of Benue State.
26-year-old Terver Awuha was said to have dragged the little girl into his room and molested her sexually as she was on her way to buy noodles for her mother on June 3, 2020 at about 7:30pm.
Awuha allegedly raped her a second time on June 5, 2020 at about 2:00pm and reportedly gave the little girl N100.
The little gilr reported the incident to her mother who in turn reported the matter to the police. Awuha was thereafter arrested for committing the offence which contravened section 284 of the penal code law of Benue State 2004.
The suspect appeared before Magistrate Isaac Ajim who denied him bail and remanded him in custody of Nigerian Correctional Service in Makurdi. He adjourned the case till August 28 for mention.
