The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, in Yobe State, Mr. Ibrahim Lass, on Thursday July 2 2015 said the scheme may re-open the the camp in the state if government rehabilitates it.
According to the Vanguard, the coordinator made while statement addressing outgoing batch B corps members in Damaturu.
He said, “Now that the security situation is gradually improving in Yobe, we are considering holding NYSC orientation camp next year, if the state government rehabilitates the camp.”
“We have carried out a survey of the facilities in the camp and wrote to the state government to assist in renovating the camp, so that we can open it next year.”
He stated that NYSC has not held in the state since 2010 because of the security situation in North-east Nigeria.
Passing-out ceremony of corps members in the state has been low-keyed since 2010, owing to the security challenges facing some parts of the state.
