A female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Saturday, August 22, 2015 halted her wedding ceremony halfway to attend an impromptu head count exercise scheduled by the authority of the service.
The bride, fully dressed in her wedding apparel, stunned her fellow corps members and officials as she stormed the venue in an undisclosed Local Government where she is currently serving.
Mild laughter erupted among the shocked onlookers as the unabated bride eagerly waited to participate so she would go back and complete her wedding ceremony.
The Trent learnt that the head count was scheduled among serving corps members nationwide so as to enable the NYSC body detect ghost members.
One of the corps members who spoke under the condition of anonymity said: “They informed us that the counting exercise will take place between Saturday and Sunday. The process was cumbersome, I went there early this morning but after all the queues It was finally by evening.”
Another source added that he had only washed his uniform earlier that day before he later learnt about the exercise.
