A viral photo of a three-day-old baby lying close to its mother’s c-section scar has broken the internet with a major lesson on the extent mothers go before bringing forth children.
Helen Aller, 29, from Guernsey, who herself is 8 months pregnant, took a black and white photo of the baby and its unnamed mother, who said that the operation saved their lives.
The photo has been viewed by over 11.5million persons, liked by over 200,000 and shared more than 56,000 times since it was shared on Facebook social media platform.
Aller, a mother of two said, “I didn’t expect this image to reach so far.I photographed this mama’s pregnancy a while back and she was telling me how terrified she was of having a c-section.
“Last week she went into labour but had to have an emergency c-section after complications.
“She asked me to come over and shoot this particular image as her worst nightmare proved to be what saved her and her child’s lives.’
According to Metro UK, Aller added that the appeal of the image to her is the contrast between struggle and beauty.
Many mothers across the globe who were encouraged by the image contacted Aller to thank her for sharing the shot which helped them get used to their own c-section scars.
One mother said, “I’m not a huge fan of having a scar across my lower abdomen, but I’ve learned to embrace it because that is where my babies came from.”
