‘He Is Not Worth The Hassle’: Carragher Slams Chelsea’s Diego Costa

Must read

Chelsea striker, Diego Costa is undoubtedly one of the most confrontational striker in the English premier league. The Spaniard was retrospectively banned for three matches after a clash with Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny last weekend. The incident which was missed by referee, Mike Dean was captured on camera.

Former Liverpool player, Jamie Carragher has now spoken about the Brazilian born Spanish striker. Carragher is of the opinion that the 26-year-old is not worth all the hassles as he is more interested in fighting defender than scoring goals.

Writing for the Daily Mail, the former Liverpool defender discussed the controversial striker:

“His behaviour against Arsenal seven days ago has put him and Jose Mourinho in the headlines once again and you can’t help think there will be a point down the line when Chelsea wonder if he is worth all the aggravation he brings,

“Personally, I think it’s reaching the stage when he may not be worth the hassle. There was his stamp on Emre Can, the injuries he had last season and then the incident with Gabriel. You can see him being involved in a flashpoint like that every week.

“What I find hardest to work out about him is why he seems most concerned about fighting with every defender he faces rather than scoring goals.”
