Nigeria Labour Congress on (NLC) Friday, February 13, 2015 arranged for a meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC) to hold on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 to resolve the dispute recorded at its election on Thursday, February 12, 2015.
Making the announcement on via an e-mail, the General Secretary of the NLC, Peter Ozo-Eson said the National Administrative Council of the NLC made the decision as the leadership of the party was interested in ensuring that the debacle was surmounted so the election should be held to prevent the current leaders of the congress from staying in office beyond their tenure.
While blaming the Credentials Committee which supervised the election for he discrepancy discovered at the polls, Ozo-Eson said the issue was negligible and could have been sorted out by invalidating certain votes.
He further said the elections were going on peacefully until certain delegates noticed the irregularity involving four candidates and reacted promptly as they felt the errors were a calculated scheme.
