Reality TV star, model, and social media influencer, American Blac Chyna is heading to Nigeria next week to promote a bleaching cream and Nigerian Twitter is not having any of it.
The mother-of-two, whose real name is Angela Renée White, is famous for dating Rob Kardashian of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians clan announced she was coming to Lagos, Nigeria on November 25, 2018 to promote her latest business venture, a skin-lightening cream produced by Whitenicious.
Skin bleaching is popular in Nigeria. The harmful practice is connected with vital organ failure and skin cancer and authorities in Nigeria have warned against skin bleaching products.
Black Chyna, 30, is a former stripper and social media influencer who has profitably monetised her Instagram and other social media accounts having promoted slimming drinks and her own makeup brand in the past. She is paid to host parties and promote products on her social media pages.
Nigerians have taken to Twitter to express disgust and humour at the notion of an African American woman visiting Nigeria to promote a skin-bleaching product.
Below are some of the top tweets on the subject. First, let’s start with a doctor’s warning.
As you await the launch of Blac Chyna bleaching products in Lagos this weekend, this is a simple reminder that you are about to buy a cream that will ruin your kidneys, destroy your natural skin, compromise your liver, make you vulnerable to skin cancer and slowly end your life.

Blac Chyna knows bleaching creams are banned for use in countries like U.K. and USA. But Blac Chyna doesn’t care about you.
They ban it in their countries. But make it and sell it to you. Because your life is totally worthless to them.
Don’t be a fool.
DO NOT BLEACH YOUR SKIN. pic.twitter.com/FcCBcGntkX— #OurFavOnlineDoc 🩺🇳🇬🇬🇧💎 (@DrOlufunmilayo) November 20, 2018
People like Blac Chyna understand the insecurities of many dark-skinned people. Coming to Nigeria is deliberate.
Bleaching your skin will never solve your insecurities. That’s the sad truth.
But desperate businessmen will not mind to make money even at the expense of your life.

Blac Chyna launching a skin bleaching cream is just Blac Chyna doing Blac Chyna things…the real issue here is that it’s being targeted to the Nigerian market and the fact that the villainous product will most likely sell out in Nigeria.

Blac Chyna partnering up with Africa's bleaching king and queen to create a new face bleaching cream is beyond problematic.
It's really rubbing me the wrong way, ain't no way in hell she would do that in LA. Exploiting Nigeria's colourism problem is disgusting
