The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Thursday, February 26, 2015 endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for re-election ahead of the Saturday, March 28, 2015 presidential election.
NANS made their declaration at a one-day national Students Association Rally in Abuja.
National President of NANS, Tijani Usman said the decision was reached following conviction that President Jonathan’s achievements touched the lives of Nigerian youths and students.
He said: ‘’We are supporting President Jonathan because he is the first president ever to have released about N200 billion at a one full swoop to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASSU, for the overall uplifting and development of the universities. He similarly established more than 24 new universities across the country. He has also set up 124 Almajiri schools for our brothers in the northern part of country.”
