Investors on Friday, August 4, 2017 transacted 515.48 million shares valued at N6.30 billion in 4,132 deals on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the volume improved by 25.08 per cent compared to 412.12 million shares worth N4.72 billion traded in 4,207 deals on Thursday.
An analysis of the activity chart indicated Wapic Insurance emerged the most traded with a turnover of 118.55 million shares worth N59.27 million.
Zenith Bank came second with an exchange of 80.33 shares valued at N2.03 billion and Access Bank sold 78.72 million shares worth N789.11 million.
Transcorp accounted for 29.08 million shares valued at N42.53 million, while GT Bank exchanged a total of 23.75 million shares worth N961.97 million.
Also, the All-Share Index sustained positive trend appreciating by 289.92 points or 0.78 per cent to close at 37,425.15 as against 37,135.23 posted on Thursday amid price gains.
In the same vein, the market capitalization, which opened at N12.799 trillion inched N100 billion or 0.78 per cent to close at N12.899 trillion.
Nigerian Breweries led the gainers’ table growing by N3.25 to close at N175.65 per share.
Forte Oil followed with a gain of N2.87 to close at N60.37 and Dangote Cement appreciated by N2.10 to close at N242 per share.
Julius Berger gained N1.79 to close at N35.99, while 7UP increased by N1.75 to close at N92 per share.
Conversely, Beta Glass topped the losers’ chart, declining by N3.01 to close at N57.33 per share.
Zenith Bank followed with a loss of 20 kobo to close at N25.20, while UBA was down by 9 kobo to close at N9.81 per share.
Morrison dipped 5 kobo to close at N1.13, while Stanbic IBTC also lost 5 kobo to close at N37.50 per share.
