In a move which furthers the fight against terrorism in the country, the Nigerian military uncovered a rocket launcher production facility in Kano State.
In a statement released to journalists on Friday, May 23, 2014 and signed by Major General Chris Olukolade, Director of Defence Information, the military says a cordon and search exercise uncovered a Rocket Launcher production facility at Dorayi District in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.
The discovery, he said, follows the arrest of a prominent member of the Boko Haram sect.
Also seized were three AK47 rifles and hundreds of rounds of assorted ammunitions, drilling machines and other fabricating equipment.
Olukolade reminded the general public to report suspicious persons to security agencies in their localities to prevent unwholesome acts of terrorism.
