Nigerian Military Hand Over 275 Children, Women to NEMA

 The Nigerian military on Saturday May 2,2015 handed over 275 women and children rescued from the Sambisa forest to officials of the National Emergency Management Agency for rehabilitation.

Speaking while handing the victims to NEMA ,the acting commander of the 23 Armoured Brigade ,Yola , Col. ABA Popoola noted that the army had no facilities to take care of the women and children rescued from Boko Haram’s camps in Sambisa forest.

According to the News agency of Nigeria, Popoola urged NEMA to take adequate care of these victims of terror.

Responding, the Director, Search and Rescue Operations of NEMA, Air Commodore Charles Otegbade (retd), promised that the agency would adequately take care of the rescued internally displaced peoples (IDPs).

He said that most of the rescued persons had sustained various degrees of injuries, including fractures and dislocations .
