The Flying Eagles of Nigeria, staged a comeback by beating and kicking the North Korean team with a 4-0 win.
Saviour Godwin scored a brace which fired Nigeria to the brink of qualification from the group stages to the last 16.
The first half was quite shaky as the Flying Eagles failed to cage the Asians despite having several chances to score with North Korean goalkeeper Cha Jong Hun putting up a great performance that halted the Nigeria under 20 team from moving forward.
The African Champions however, put up a commanding second half display to their first win of the competition.
The Flying Eagles team captain, Mus Muhammed, sent a rocket shot which hit inside of the post from 25 yards as Jong Hun looked on was Manu Garba’s side best chance in the first half.
Also, the Asian side’s goalkeeper pulled off a fantastic save off Taiwo Awoniyi’s follow up free kick by Muhammed.
The second half had gone for only three minutes, when Godwin put his team ahead after Jong Hun misjudged Bernard Bulbwa’s cross.
During the 51st minute of the match, Godwin scored his brace with a cool finish in between the legs of defender and goalkeeper after being led by Awoniyi who skillfully found his way into the Asians’ backline.
Kingsley Sokari hit a fantastic goal as his laser-guided shot from the edge of the area hurled into the top left corner of the net.
Success Isaac who came in as a substitute scored the fourth goal after he had exchanged passes with Awoniyi and sliced through the Korea DPR defence before the latter slammed home a tight.
