Nigeria Is Not Properly Managed – Buhari

Must read

Former Head of State, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari , has said that Nigeria is not well managed by the present administration.

He expresses his utmost concern for the nation as he wished the country can be salvaged from the critical economic condition that the country seem to suffer

Speaking in an interview with journalists in Ilorin on Monday, October 13, 2014 during his visit to Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmrd, General Buhari stated that even though he has contested and lost in the Presidential race three times, the federal constitution does not place a restriction as to how many times one must contest for any Political office, as long as the individual is above the age of 18 years.

He said: “I contested three times and I lost three times and I ended up in Supreme Court three times. We thank God the constitutional did not limit how many times you can contest  at whichever stage once you are 18 years and above and it did not put age limit as well.

“I have tried ruling this country before in a different system, and from 1999 till now, I am sure you know what happened or what has been happening.

“I believe what Nigeria needs now is to be secured and efficiently managed. This is the APC stand and I will like to use the opportunity through my part and the system to secure and efficiently manage Nigeria. Of course Nigeria is not well managed, you know it.”

The All Progressive congress Chieftain assured that the party shall provide for a fair playing ground for the entire APC presidential aspirant for the primaries. He also condemns the insensitive imposition of candidates for the country and maintains that Nigerians must be allowed to choose their leaders.

On the issue of consensus candidate he said, “It is up to the party and up to the people.  We need a fair playing ground for everybody. Let Nigerians be given the impression and let them believe that they matter. All these efforts to salvage the nation are for them and for the country.

“If there is a consensus agreement, it is not forced on the people, yes and good, it will save time and resources. But if even it insists that whatever zones that want to lead should present them, let the people decide, it is well and good. The system allows it,” he concluded.
