ABUJA, Nigeria – The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has called for the arrest of a popular skit maker known as Trinity Guy, citing the endangerment of Nigerian lives through his extreme pranks.
Despite initial warnings directed towards skit makers to regulate their content due to safety concerns, Trinity Guy has reportedly continued to produce content that puts individuals at risk.
Adejobi voiced his concerns on Monday, June 19, 2023, sharing an extreme prank video from the comedian via his Instagram page.
“This doesn’t make any sense. I think the guy should have been arrested,” Adejobi stated, highlighting the potential dangers and threats to public safety posed by such pranks.
Adejobi urged those who have been victims of Trinity Guy’s pranks to report to the authorities, stating, “Those individuals who feel the heat and fear of the pranks should be reporting the pranksters as many of their pranks are criminals, immoral, and evil.”
It’s yet to be seen how this order will affect the broader skit-making industry in Nigeria, which has grown in popularity over recent years thanks to social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube.
As of the time of writing, Trinity Guy has not yet responded to the police order for his arrest.
