Nigeria has been selected as one of the African countries to benefit from International Feed Industry Federation, IFIF, a component of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, FAO Radio Nigeria reports.
This was revealed through the Registrar of the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science, Dr. Oyedele Oyediji, during an interview in Abuja.
According to him, the decision was among the many others made at the International Feed Regulators meeting held in Atlanta, USA last month.
Dr. Oyediji disclosed that international communities named Nigeria’s Feed Mill Industry among the best in Africa which informed the decision to allow the country benefit further in the areas of capacity building in all aspects of livestock production to meet international standards.
He further stated that every country is expected to adhere strictly to the organization’s guidelines following a recent Feed Mills stakeholders’ Workshop held in Ibadan on the Implementation of FAO/Codex Code of Practice on Good Animal Feeding.
