The Super Eagles appear to have put behind the controversies trailing the team for some time now. The Nigerian team beat Cameroon 3-0 in an international friendly on Sunday, October 11, 2015.
Nigeria’s first goal came through Celtic FC defender, Efe Ambrose who headed in a goal from a John Mikel Obi freekick. A few minutes earlier Efe almost scored an own goal after a miscommunication with goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme.
The Super Eagles went in during the half time break with a 1-0 lead. Cameroon’s Captain, Stephane Mbia was sent off for a second bookable offence after a reckless challenge on Sylvester Igboun.
Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel who bossed the midfield for the major part of the game was substituted in the second half for Wilfred Ndidi.
The Nigerian side grabbed their second goal in the 60th through Moses Simon who received a brilliant pass from Ahmed Musa and dazzled a Cameroon defender before firing in a low shot.
The Super Eagles scored their final goal through substitute, Odion Ighalo after a string of passes from the Nigerian side and an eventual assist from Elderson Echiejile.
