Nigerian Customs Service , through the Federal Operations Unit, FOU, Zone ‘A’ Ikeja, has seized and evacuated 19 trucks laden with 10,252 bags of 50kg parboiled rice and 554 jerry cans of 25 litres of groundnut oil with Duty Paid Value of N70,377, 500.
Deputy Controller Usman Turaki ,the Controller of the zone, who on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, stated that the recent operational success of the unit is hinged on the unit’s renewed zeal and determination to help eradicate smuggling.
He also assure that Nigeria Custom will continue to protect the interest and investments of organizations and individuals, who have invested their entire livelihood into rice farming and production.
Turaki also said his men and officers will continue to reciprocate the logistics and capacity building given by the Controller-General, Alhaji Abdullahi Dikko Inde, by ensuring re-dedication to duty.
