Niger has given the nod for all tertiary institutions in the state to resume on January 25.
Upon resumption, all lecturers, staff, and students are to ensure full compliance with the COVID-19 protocols by maintaining physical distancing and avoiding large gathering of any kind within the institution.
Abubakar Baba Aliyu, the commissioner for Tertiary Education Science and Technology, announced in a press statement on Saturday, January 16, 2021.
Aliyu further stated there must be proper wearing of face masks at all times within and outside the institution by everyone while the temperature of all lecturers, staff, students, and everyone entering into the institution would be checked.
The Commissioner advised all heads of tertiary institutions, lecturers, staff, and workers to ensure full compliance of the laid down procedures as mechanisms to ensure and monitor the compliance with COVID-19 protocols would be set up.
