The deputy governor of Niger State, Ahmed Musa Ibeto has decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

His defection came on Monday, January 19, 2015 after he failed to emerge governorship candidate for the ruling PDP on whose platform he became deputy governor.
Ibeto will be presented to APC during the party’s presidential campaign in the state today.
According to reports, joining the deputy governor to his new party are 200 political office holders of the PDP, including serving members of the National Assembly and State House of Assembly, former commissioners and local government chairmen.
Ibeto is said to be having friction with the state governor, Aliyu Babangida for failing to help him secure a governorship ticket with the PDP.
