New TV Series ‘Chude Changed My Life!’ Set to Transform Grassroots Communities Across Nigeria

Must read

LAGOS, Nigeria – Chude Jideonwo, the acclaimed filmmaker and host of the viral podcast #withchude, has announced the launch of a groundbreaking new TV series titled ‘Chude Changed My Life!’, designed to bring life-changing transformations to communities across Nigeria.

The series will provide support to families, couples, and individuals grappling with emotional, mental, and material challenges, offering an opportunity for a fresh start.

Inspired by the success of Oprah Winfrey’s Iyanla, Fix My Life, Jideonwo expressed his long-standing desire to create a similar show that goes beyond the confines of a studio, with a tangible impact on the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

“Ever since I watched the Oprah Winfrey Network’s hit show ‘Iyanla, Fix My Life,’ I’ve been obsessed with the idea of a life-affirming TV show that goes out of the studio to practically change people’s lives – through their minds, hearts, and spirits,” he said in a statement to The Trent on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Building on the success of his talk show, which is regarded as the region’s top talk show, Jideonwo is extending the show’s reach and influence to grassroots communities.

“If we have been called the region’s number one talk show, then it’s time to use that success and go a step further,” he continued.

“So to mark a special milestone for the show next year, which we will be announcing soon, we are marshalling the influence and reach of the show to touch lives and communities across Nigeria.”

Five Components of the Transformative Series

The ‘Chude Changed My Life!’ series will consist of five key components:

  1. Annual Call for Nominations: Communities across Nigeria can nominate individuals, families, or couples facing significant challenges related to their mental and emotional health.
  2. Deliberation Process: Nominations must come with proof of deliberation within the community, which will select the most compelling story for submission.
  3. Story Selection: The #WithChude team will review the nominations and select 10 individuals or families to feature on the show.
  4. Real-Time Support: A team of coaches, counsellors, psychiatrists, and psychologists will work directly with the chosen participants, helping them navigate their challenges in real time.
  5. Material Support: In addition to emotional and mental guidance, the series will address material issues that may have contributed to the participants’ struggles, helping to facilitate their healing process.

Nominations for the series are now open via change.withchude.com or through WhatsApp at +2348094321111. The deadline for nominations is January 10, 2025.

A Commitment to Transformation

Jideonwo expressed deep personal investment in the project. “This project is deeply important to me, and I can’t wait to meet those selected for this very special series,” he said.

The series is a continuation of Jideonwo’s work in using media and storytelling to inspire and uplift communities, especially at the grassroots level.

He hopes to “touch lives in a meaningful way, going beyond just entertainment to create lasting change.”
