KATSINA, Nigeria – The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has raised concerns over the disappearance of its National Vice President, Munnir Atiku Lamido.
The announcement was made public in a statement on Friday, June 30, 2023, by MACBAN’s national public relations officer, Alhaji Muhammad Nura Abdullahi.
“We wish to bring to the notice of the general public and the security agencies that Engr. Munnir Atiku Lamido is missing. Engr. Munnir is the National Vice President of MACBAN,” stated Abdullahi in his plea for public awareness.
According to the statement, Engr. Munnir Atiku Lamido departed his residence in Katsina State on June 23, 2023, with plans to travel to Kaduna.
His whereabouts have been unknown since that day.
A distressing development occurred when the vehicle of the missing MACBAN official was discovered abandoned on the road between Jos and Kaduna, near Mararraban Jos town.
The vehicle was found with all his telephones inside, raising concerns for his safety and well-being.
“All efforts to trace him proved abortive so far,” Abdullahi remarked in the statement.
The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association is urging anyone with pertinent information about Engr. Lamido’s whereabouts to assist by contacting the nearest police station or reaching out to MACBAN offices across the country.
Engr. Munnir Atiku Lamido’s disappearance is of major concern to MACBAN and the wider community.
The organisation plays a significant role in Nigeria’s cattle breeding and herding sector, and as the national vice president, Lamido is a prominent figure in the association.
As the search continues, the association and the family of Engr. Lamido hope for his safe return and encourage the public to aid in the search by sharing any information that could help in locating him.
