The much talked about Fifty Shades Of Gray with highly erotic scenes have caused more harm than good since it was premiered on Valentines day of Saturday, February 14, 2015.
A 19-year-old Muslim student, Mohammad Hossain, has been charged with sexual assault which took place while he was re-enacting scenes from the film in the hostel.
It was learnt that Hossain asked his victim to pull off her clothes before he tied her up and blindfolded her with a knit hat.
He further ripped her underwear, stuffed a necktie in her mouth and thereafter, started hitting her with a belt.
The victim allegedly told him to stop because it was hurting but he proved adamant and went ahead with the assault.
According to Metro UK, Prosecutor Sarah Karr said that when the woman managed to free her arms, Hossain held them behind her back and sexually assaulted her.
The defendants attorney, Sandra Bennewitz said he has been active in several leadership programs at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
‘How can someone involved in all that let a movie persuade him to do something like this?’ Judge Adam Bourgeois quizzed during the session.
‘He would say that it was consensual,’ Bennewitz replied.
Hossain was detained on $500,000 bail after he appeared in court on Monday, February 23, 2015.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Censors Board has banned the movie due to the high lewd content encapsulated in it.
