Stevie Wonder got his Christmas present early.
The 64-year-old legendary musician welcomed his ninth child, and second child with girlfriend Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, a baby girl named Nia, his rep confirms to Us Weekly. No other details on the couple’s new bundle of joy have been released.
E! News has reached out for comment.
In November, Wonder was at the center of baby rumors after a Page Six reported that the “Superstition” singer is expecting triplets with Bracy, bringing his offspring count to 11. Wonder appeared on The View shortly afterward, where he was asked about the recent speculation, and after laughing off the report, he opted to set the record straight and spill some exciting news!
“Whoopi, it’s so hard for me these days. That’s why I’m going on the road. I’ve got how many—22 kids?” the singer joked with a smile while seated at the piano. “But actually it’s not true.”
The soul singer has eight children with five different women. His children range in age from 12 months to 39 years. And while Wonder may have debunked the triplet reports, the musician did reveal that he was preparing to grow his family.
“The truth is we’re going to have a wonderful daughter in December…And like I said in the song ‘Superstition,’ ‘When you believe in things you don’t understand, you suffer,'” he sang with a smile before adding, “So, you know, that’s a bunch of a bull.”
Prior to his relationship with Bracy, Wonder was married to fashion designer Kai Millard Morris. The two filed for divorce in Aug. 2012 after two children and 11 years of marriage.
Congratulations to the couple on their new adorable addition!
