PDP national chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, took to his twitter page to air his three hour side of the story and to continue his pushback against those calling for him and other members of the National Working Committee to resign,
Mu’azu explained on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 that he had been in the party for 16 years as a staunch member who had given his all to the progress of the PDP and had no plans to quit the party. He denied allegations of betraying Pres. Jonathan, wondering how anyone could betray himself”. He said if he had the choice he would back Jonathan again and again.
Mu’azu however admitted that the perception of both the president and the PDP in the North was at an “all time low”. He put the blame for that on “lies told by politicians.”
So far no PDP leaders has agreed with the argument that Pres. Jonathan and the PDP lost due to a consensus by the majority that they had failed to deliver on their promises.
For Mu’azu it was a case of “ethnicity and tribalism.” He advised anyone who expects him to resign or decamp to “stop the wishful thinking” as he has “a party to lead.”
“Some who are singing ‘change the entire NWC’ were the same ones who brought us to this level with their insincerity and praise singing. The APC has nothing to offer someone like me. I am too principled to betray my party. I have been here since 1999,” he said.
